HOW CAN I MAKE A DONATION?
. Occassionally, people wish to make a donation, to help me
continue to provide this unique service to people without regard
for their abilty to pay. Sometimes these are e-mail clients to
whom I've given a great deal of my time and energy; who, for one
reason or another, won't be coming here to complete this process
(at least in the near future.) Other times, former clients, who
might have payed little or nothing for my services, have realized
substantial improvements in not only their personal lives but their
financial situations, as the result of the closure I helped them to
obtain. In still other instances, someone has abused my tendency to
give people "the benefit of the doubt," regarding their motives for
being in contact with me; and, have enough character to want to
compensate me for having used time and effort which I could have
spent on someone who was sincere. Long story short, my policy of
never turning away a person who is sincere but unable to pay or has
to pay in only tiny increments, results in it being a constant
struggle to barely keep both ends meeting somewhere in the general
vicinity of the middle. Without occassional donations, I don't see
how I could continue to do this the way it needs to be done. Just
like those of you who get regular, dependable paychecks for all of
the hours which you put into your job, I have things such as utility
bills and other necessary expenses which MUST be paid, regardless of
how much (or, even if) the people who come here in any given month
can afford to pay me, regardless of how much people procrastinate or
back out, regardless of how many people feel free to abuse my good
will and time for purposes other than I intend, etc.
You may do so by any of the following methods:
1) Sending a check or money order to:
Kathy Renbarger,
PO Box 483,
Seminole, OK. 74818
2) If you'd like to send a donation on-line, using a credit or debit
card, you may do so via my fedup@okplus.com e-mail address, using: PAY PAL
3) Or, for those of you who prefer to retain more anonymity,
you may also place credit on my Lowe's (home improvement store)
merchandise card, the number of which is: 600649_1700027378308
4) Gift certificates for Wal-Mart are also a good avenue for
people who wish to remain anonymous; and, perhaps, need to
avoid questions from someone else regarding the donation.
Gift certificates from other stores can often be problematic,
however; since, they might not have a store in my area; or,
they might be ill suited to my rather austere lifestyle.
5) Used computer equipment, sent to my snail mail address...
Quite often, equipment which is upgraded and discarded will
exceed the outdated equipment which I get by with; plus, it's
the type of donation which costs you virtually nothing and
results in no questions from others in your life. Right now,
I'm in rather desperate need of a laptop which exceeds my old
(non-upgradable) 486/100, which will only run Win3.1 and chokes
on the internet, since it has only 8 megs of memory... I could
also use an upgrade on this old 166mgz dinosaur desktop which I
use... I have a standard Win98 CD; so, feel free to format the
hard drive (to erase all personal info.) If it were to be a more
proprietary system, though; such as an HP (which requires its own
restoration drivers,) a copy of the system restoration disk or CD
would be greatly appreciated (as, of course, the equipment would
be...) Even upgrading to larger than 1.2gig (C) and 545 megs (D)
hard drives and more than 48 megs of memory would help a lot...
If anyone is getting rid of an old 100 meg zip drive and has spare
diskettes for it, they would help, as well; as would an internal zip
drive.
. To those of you who do decide to make a donation; but, who
choose to do so without letting me know that it's from you and
letting me thank you personally, I want to take this opportunity
to thank you. {smile} Without the help of people such as yourself,
it would be extremely difficult for me to maintain the open door
policies which I feel are needed for this program.
